INGREDIENTS:
FOR THE BREAD:
2½ cups flour
¼ cup sugar
1½ teaspoon yeast
1 whole egg, room temperature
⅔ cup water
4 tablespoons butter, room temperature
FOR THE DECORATION:
¼ cup melted butter
½ cup sugar
1½ teaspoons cinnamon
DIRECTIONS:
TO MAKE THE BREAD:
-
In the bowl of a stand mixer, add bread flour, sugar, salt, yeast, oil, milk, egg and water. Mix on medium speed with a dough hook, until combined. Then add the butter, continue to mix, when the dough does not stick to the sides of the bowl then it is done.
-
Lightly grease a large bowl with oil spray and put the dough in, cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size (give the dough enough time to rest so it is easier to roll flat).
ASSEMBLY:
-
Dust the working surface with flour, take the bread dough out and roll it flat. Brush with melted butter. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together then cover the bread surface with it.
-
Fold the dough into an envelope and roll it flat one more time. Then use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into strips, roll them into buns and place them on the baking sheet. Brush again with melted butter
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
Bake for 25 minutes and you're done. The bread can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
